McDavid 429 Brace

McDavid 429 Knee Brace Review

What if I were to tell you the McDavid 429 brace was one of the best purchases I have made in the last 13 years? I know what you are thinking, that sounds like a ridiculous statement. However, when you have had four knee surgeries, two of which were major reconstructive surgeries, and I no longer have cartilage in my left knee than it isn’t as ridiculous. If you don’t know how it feels, just imagine slamming two bones together all day long.

Always being an active person from golfing, snowboarding and weightlifting has become difficult when dealing with chronic knee pain. Which is why I have gone through the gauntlet of knee braces on the market.

However, earlier this year, I decided to give another knee brace a shot and turned to one of the leaders in the industry, which is McDavid, that has been perfecting the knee brace since 1969.

The McDavid 429 brace I use with the polycentric hinges is a game changer. It is not only the most comfortable knee braces I have ever owned but gives me the ultimate lateral support I suffer from doing activities especially with a previously torn LCL, MCL, PCL, Meniscus and two allografts that were done to my knee.

The neoprene material helps with providing maximum compression and moisture control through the toughest workouts or rounds at the golf course. The top and bottom straps also let you dial this brace into the perfect fit every time. Wearing this brace gives me peace of mind and allows me to focus on the activity instead of dealing with the knee pain I’ve struggled with for years.

If you are in a similar situation and looking for something that can help change your knee injury circumstances than I believe you need to give this brace a shot. Since I know you want to get back to your favorite activities that seem impossible right now but McDavid can help you get back on track.

Srixon 765 Driver

Srixon 765 Driver Review

What’s that shiny black object flying at supersonic speeds and launching missiles through the clear blue sky? It’s not the sleek body of a stealth fighter but the Z Series 765 Driver by Srixon. The combination of the power wave sole, stretch-flex cup face and new lightweight crown paired with the Project X HZRDUS black shaft makes it a lethal combination for any golf course. Pair it with their new Z Star XV golf balls and it will officially take your game to a whole new level.

Srixon has launched what I believe is not only one of the best performing drivers I have played but one of the best looking clubs on the market. This Srixon Z765 driver went through the utmost precision down to every detail from the colorways to their performance features that sets this driver apart from all the others on the market. I like to call this driver War Machine since it’s so good that I bet Colonel Rhodes games this beast.

While testing this driver on the range to playing the first round I was blown away by the performance. The first time I took it to the range and sent a few balls out the back of the driving range, I knew this club was different. After suffering a rotator cuff tear earlier last year, causing me to miss out on a lot of golf from pain and surgery, this made everything better by knowing I still had my swing. Even better was the 765 driver made explosive distance easy to achieve but this thing is so damn accurate it’s silly. I was able to take lines on the course that you can only do when you have complete confidence in your club and your abilities.

This driver will allow you to take the most aggressive lines that most players think would be crazy and too risky of a decision. However, this is the Z765 and you can do extraordinary things like hitting drives that need to carry a hazard over 300 yards. This allows an approach shot with a wedge compared to a mid-iron.

My overall impression of this driver is that it’s a masterpiece, and I believe it will help me hit more fairways off the tee like when I was injury free and shooting scratch golf. Being able to hit long drives that are exactly where you want is crucial. This allows you to hit shorter clubs into greens that produce more birdie opportunities every round. Now hit up your local golf shop and get fitted for your own War Machine to destroy all the other drivers on the course.

Srixon 765 Irons Review

What’s forged perfection that’s handcrafted from Japan and has officially replaced my Mizuno MP64’s from my golf bag? It’s the Srixon 765 irons, which are some of the best feeling irons I have ever hit in my life. Since I received these irons in the mail I have put them through the ringer. We are talking hitting these every day for the past few weeks with multiple rounds and range sessions at lunch.

After tearing my rotator cuff in January and being laid up for most the year dealing with injuries, these irons have been one of the brightest moments for me.

Right out of the box these irons were already a winner with shining bright chrome and clean lines of the muscle cavities. The masters at Srixon have manufactured what I believe to be the best iron to hit the market in the last few years. The thin topline makes it look like a blade without any unnecessary thickness to the width of this iron. It’s a perfect example of top notch R&D and keen eye for artistic design. I wouldn’t change anything about the look of these beauties.

Where these clubs really shine is in their top-of-the-line performance. How would you like an iron that combines deadly accuracy with more distance, playability and will shave strokes off your rounds? You are in luck because they are available right now. After playing these for weeks, I have been able to move the ball any direction and with some of the tightest dispersion I have ever had in my golf career. Even better is the penetrating ball flight these irons create has allowed for pin hunting with no fear to go after any flag on the course.

When hitting these irons onto greens, I have never seen this kind of performance that lets me easily dictate distance and spin control. This is key when finding a perfect iron for your game, and has given me the ability to hit these farther than my Mizuno’s, which I thought would never leave my bag. This added distance from the Srixon 765 irons give me the opportunity to hit a higher lofted club to dial in the tightest approach shots.

Overall I believe Srixon has created a gem especially for players like myself that love the feel of a blade but the forgiveness of the muscle cavity. Lower handicap players wanting more performance in their game should definitely take a look at these irons. The 765’s are magic, and I am already seeing what these monsters are made of, and I believe this is the missing key to my golf game on finally shooting the best scores of my life after all the injuries my body has endured.

My Srixon 765 irons are 3-PW with 1” extensions and Project X 6.5 shafts. When looking to purchase your Srixon’s, make sure you find an authorized dealer and get fitted properly because I know how good they will be for you when you become the envy of all your friends this golf season.

iFitGolf the Ultimate Golf Fitting Experience

Shop Small Businesses

Imagine walking into a sporting goods store looking for the latest driver on the market. A 17-year-old kid walks over from the baseball section when he sees you rummaging through clubs and wants to add to his sales total for the day. He sets you up with a stiff shaft when realistically you should be playing a regular or x-stiff depending on your swing. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen people fall into this old trap of shopping at the big box stores since they think, “I can get a hell of a deal on a golf club.”

The problem with this mentality is that the majority of the time you will find is the staff not only lacks knowledge of proper golf fitting but needs to sell all their product “off the rack”. However, we all know is the wrong approach when selling golf clubs because one product doesn’t fit all. That’s why you need to seek experts that want to see you play better golf.

ifitgolf logo

This held true when I recently had the great opportunity to get properly fitted for my Mizuno MP-64 irons at iFitGolf in Folsom, California.

iFitGolf is a small business that has dedicated golf fitting experts that are some of the best in the business compared to other experiences I have had in the past. The owner, Bobby Siravo, and his highly-trained staff utilize expert knowledge and cutting-edge technology to make sure you have the best setup customized to your unique swing.

Let the Fitting Begin

The Mizuno MP-64’s are still my irons of choice even though they were launched in 2013. The feel of these irons are second to none and performance has been great but I always believed they could be better. Since I injured my Achilles heel, the past few years I have had missed opportunities with hitting greens in regulation. I had KBS Tour shafts installed when I first received these irons but my high swing speed needed a better fit.

That’s when I decided to take the 45 minute drive from Rocklin to Folsom past all the big box golf stores to the real experts in the Sacramento area. It was worth every cent.

I began my fitting process by discussing with iFitGolf the problems I had experienced with my clubs and started hitting my 6 iron in the Trackman hitting bay. After 15 shots, I checked the dispersion of errant shots I would typically see in a round. Immediately they were able to diagnose my situation, and I began hitting a variety of shaft choices that would complement my swing.

Finally after testing they were able to narrow it down to a Project X when I started hitting the 6.0 consistently down the line with excellent launch angle and spin rates. But they didn’t stop there. Matt Hollinsead believed the 6.5 would actually be the perfect fit and took the time to hunt down that shaft in the store to make sure it would be exactly what I needed. He was right. I ended up hitting 10 shots with a 7 iron, all of them dead straight at 200 yards. Now that is consistency I can live with in the future, which in turn will translate into playing better golf.

So now that you have decided to take your golf game to the next level and get properly fitted, remember to shop small business that have experts that will make you play better and shoot lower scores today. If you live in the Sacramento, California area I highly suggest stopping by iFitgolf and see what they can do for your game.

Product Review: Cleveland 588 RTX 2.0 Wedges

I couldn’t be more excited to receive the new Cleveland RTX 2.0 wedges. Not just because Cleveland makes the best wedges in golf but because the Rotex technology is a game changer. RTX HawaiiYou ask, how can you say that? Well during this past year, with my Rotex 1.0 56* wedge, I was able to slam my first Hole In One from 138 yards by knocking it 4 feet past and spinning it right into the cup. Not only was it the best feeling in the world but solidified my commitment to a lifelong Cleveland wedge user.

However, the real story with the new RTX 2.0 wedges is the new sole / bound grind combinations that gives players unlimited versatility of their custom wedge. So buckle up for more spin, more high fives and lower scores.

Product Review:

Look 10/10:

Last year when I unwrapped the original Rotex wedges I thought there’s no way you can make this wedge look any better. Well Cleveland again has proved me wrong and made the cleanest looking wedge on the market. The same tour satin and black satin wedges are available in the new RTX 2.0 wedges.

They kept the same great look of the Rotex 1.0 wedges with a few updates to give it a more sleek design.  I give the overall look a 10/10.

Distance Control & Accuracy 9/10:

Distance control and accuracy is crucial in being able to score and shoot lower scores. I believe the most important shot in golf is the 100 yards and in. Putting is important but if your approach shots aren’t getting close, you can only try and drain so many 45 footers.

The ability to have full customization with sole and bounce will elevate your game to a whole new level, especially with the Rotex face technology. Playing these wedges the past couple of weeks, and using GAME GOLF to track my shots, I have been able to hit over 70% of my approach shots from inside 100 yards to inside 40 feet. I give the overall distance control and accuracy a 9/10.

Feel 10/10:clevelandwedge

Everyone has their own take about feel but my personal experience with these wedges, especially with the blades, is that you receive instant feedback on a shot with RTX 2.0 wedges. It has allowed me to dial in approach shots better than ever, helping me get back to an almost scratch handicap.

The versatility of the 3 grind options allows you to zero in on the perfect wedge for your game.  I give the overall feel a 10/10.

Spin 10/10:

The combination of the sharper grooves, laser milling and Rotex face will give you maximum spin unlike anything on the market. Cleveland changed the face of spin the past year and taken it to the limits allowed by the USGA.

I have played these wedges in Sacramento, San Francisco and Hawaii and with all those variants of different grass types and playing conditions, they performed immaculately. I promise this will be the best purchase you will make in years. I give the overall spin rating a 10/10.

Overall Rating 39/40:

The overall performance of the Cleveland 588 2.0 RTX wedges go above and beyond.  Wedge customization has been taken to a whole new level with the combination of 2 different head designs and 3 different sole grinds makes these wedges the most versatile wedge family ever for Cleveland. This is a great direction for the best wedge company in golf.

These wedges are worth every cent. Feel free to find your nearest dealer and give them a try yourself (DEALER LOCATOR LINK).

TECHNOLOGY

The evolution of the 588 Rotex wedge started by listening to the top players in the world. Listening to the demands a Keegan Bradley, Graeme McDowell or Hideki Matsuyama faces, week in and week out, from 125 yards and in. We then looked at what factors lead everyday players to succeed or fail in the scoring zone. After hundreds of hours of interviews and field testing, we identified a common need for all golfers, regardless of ability level: Versatility.

From that research we developed 3 distinct wedge grinds in two different head designs that are proven to optimize the short game for players of all abilities. For the improving wedge player, a more forgiving cavity back design, and for the better player, a traditional muscle-back head shape.

Add to that three distinct grind options and the 588 Rotex 2.0 becomes our most versatile wedge family ever.

Tour Zip Grooves

Fourth generation Tour Zip Grooves feature 8% larger walls and sharper radii than ever before. Through testing we have seen that more grass, dirt, and moisture are channeled away from the face for cleaner contact and more consistent spin.

Rotex 2.0 Face Pattern

Advanced, 2-pass micro milling pattern provides a strategically designed roughness close to the USGA limit. This leads to increased friction and more spin, especially from inconsistent lies.

Laser Milling

Fine tunes the micro-roughness for more consistency and texture across the face. This allows us to reach the USGA roughness limit, and pushing this boundary lends itself to increased spin on pitch and chip shots.

We created three distinct grind options for the 588 RTX 2.0 wedge family. This comprehensive system has made it easier than ever for any golfer to build a wedge set that maximizes performance based on turf conditions, playing preference, and skill level. By progressively varying the wedge’s sole design according to bounce, we have created an unmatched array of scoring tools that players can simply and easily identify as the best options for their game.

Low Bounce Grind (1 Dot)

The Low Bounce Grind provides the lowest effective bounce, allowing players to be aggressive from anywhere around the green. The combination of a trailing edge grind and maximum relief from the heel and toe lets the player be creative from even the tightest of lies. Low Bounce Grind is ideal for firm conditions and/or players with a more shallow attack angle.

KEY FEATURES

  • Trailing Edge Grind + maximum heel/toe relief
  • Lowest Effective Bounce
  • Keeps leading edge close to ground for aggressive lob shots, yet provides stability on square-faced full shots

Standard Bounce Grind (2 Dot)

The Standard Bounce Grind provides a mid-effective bounce, offering players a wedge that performs well in most conditions. The combination of a trailing edge grind and moderate relief from the heel and toe gives the player the perfect combination of versatility and forgiveness. Standard Bounce Grind is ideal for a wide variety of conditions and/or players with a neutral attack angle.

FEATURES

  • Trailing Edge Grind + moderate heel/toe relief
  • Mid Effective Bounce
  • All-around playability and versatility, allowing golfer to execute a variety of shots from most playing conditions

Full Sole (3 Dot)

The Full Sole Grind provides a slightly higher effective bounce, allowing players to smoothly glide through any surface with ease. Consistent sole width gives players confidence when striking their ball on full shots while maintaining versatility around the green. Full Sole Grind is ideal for softer conditions and/or players with a steep attack angle.

FEATURES

  • Constant Sole Width
  • Higher Effective Bounce
  • Allows the golfer to use the sole to their advantage around the greens. Full shape gives stability on full shots, however the curvature in the sole still allows player to open the face.

Product Review: 2014 Nike Tiger Woods Mesh Golf Shoes

Have you been dying of heat exhaustion this summer when trying to play golf in 100 degree weather? Does your feet feel like they are locked in a sauna and you can’t wait to escape them by the 18th hole? Nike has come to your rescue with the 2014 Tiger Woods Mesh golf shoes to help you get through even the hottest rounds on the course so now you can talk about the hot streak of birdies you went on instead of the coals you were walking on.

PRODUCT REVIEW:

tiger woods mesh

Look 10/10

What if I told you that you could have the look of the 2014 Tiger Woods golf shoe but something that is designed for the ridiculously hot weather such as here in the Sacramento area. Nike delivered a TW mesh shoe that gives you the benefits of the original but lighter materials to give you more breath ability on those hot summer rounds. The Nike free design comes in a white or grey colorway with volt and red colors to make them pop.

Out of my golf shoe collection I have continued to choose these shoes when playing this summer. Not only because they look awesome but because the mesh design is a lifesaver when dealing with a round in a 105 degree weather. I give the overall look of the TW Mesh golf shoes a 10/10 not only because they look good but because Nike made a great product for summer golf.

Comfort 10/10

The golf shoe created for the athlete does exactly what it was meant to do by delivering a super comfortable shoe that can handle walking the longest of courses even in extremely hot conditions. The TW Mesh is my golf to shoe this summer because you can barely feel them on your feet since they are featherlight. Nike took the Nike Free technology in their training shoes and put them into a shoe that could help you play golf from morning until night. So if you are looking for one of the most comfortable golf shoes on the market than make sure to stop by your local golf shop and give them a try. I give the overall comfort a 10/10 rating.

Grip 8/10tiger woods mesh sole

The new TW14 Mesh shoes take the same type of grip technology as the Nike FI Impact golf shoes with the low profile traction control that will provide you enough grip to prevent slippage on the course. Having grip is very important to the golf swing to give you a solid foundation to help you deliver powerful drives that will help you smash your competition on the links. The only drawback of these shoes is that they don’t come with the feature of golf spikes that help give maximum grip on the course. For the future I hope they make these shoes with the same sole as the regular TW golf shoe. Overall I give the grip a 8/10 rating.

Overall Rating 28/30

Nike and Tiger Woods golf shoes have been a match made in heaven for years. Every single pair I own of TW shoes I have ever owned have always been the most comfortable, best looking, groundbreaking golf shoes on the market every year. I believe the TW line especially in the golf shoes delivers a product that you feel like your money was spent wisely because every round you log in these shoes you know you had maximum comfort all 18 holes while your buddy still complains his feet kill after every round when buying other brands. So if you have been looking for a great summer golf shoe than look no further because the Tiger Woods Mesh Golf shoe has come to the rescue. CLICK HERE TO BUY NOW

Product Information:

Designed for Tiger Woods, the Nike TW ’14 Mesh Men’s Golf Shoe helps you unleash the full power of your swing with a Nike-Free inspired outsole that offers incredible flexibility from the ground up. It updates the previous version with an ultra-breathable upper, while Dynamic Flywire remains for adaptable support on the course.

Flexibility

The Nike Free-inspired outsole offers increased flexibility and full athletic motion. It’s designed to mimic and conform to the natural motion of the foot, allowing you to keep contact with the ground longer, supplying more power through your golf swing.

Ventilation

A combination of mesh and TPU offers enhanced breath ability while reducing the overall weight of the shoe for total comfort in hot conditions.

Glove-like Fit

Nike Dynamic Flywire technology cradles the foot for an adaptive, glove-like fit. Flywire consists of ultra-light yet sturdy cables that hug and move with the foot during your swing, stabilizing it while allowing for full mobility.

More Power Control

The forefoot design helps provide optimal traction and power control. The Nike Power Transfer Zone in the midsole offers better balance, smoother weight transfer and more power through impact.

Nike TW ’14 Origins

Tiger Woods prefers training in shoes that feature Nike Free technology. “I love training in it, running in it, lifting in it,” he said. “So I asked, why can’t I play golf in it?” With that, Nike designers set to work creating a Nike Free-inspired golf shoe tailored to maximize Woods’ game-and now yours. This innovative golf shoe allows athletes to keep contact with the ground longer, better harnessing the energy of the foot to the shoe and, therefore, the shoe to the ground.

Nike Free Origins

After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university’s golf course, three of Nike’s most innovative and creative employees set out to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, similar to bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure-measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion.

The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot’s natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out.

More Benefits

  • Waterproof microfiber synthetic leather upper for durability and a great fit
  • Integrated Traction for low-profile stability, maximum ground feel and comfort

Product Review: Nike Covert Tour 2.0 Hybrid

Who’s looking for a hybrid that gives you the ability to not only smash long and high shots but with full loft adjustability? Guess what you are in luck because you have stumbled upon the club that is in my bag. Also known as the Nike Cover Tour 2.0 hybrid which I am gaming in a 3H.

There comes a time in life when you need to check your ego at the door which I believe in golf is the hybrids. After having a 3 iron in my bag forever the past 2 years have gone the way of a 3 hybrid because to tell you the truth, Nike makes it just way too easy to hit and in golf easy is a good thing. So jump on the bandwagon and be prepared to put the Nike Covert Hybrid in your bag too.

Product Details:

The Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 Tour Hybrid #3 features an enhanced cavity back design with new Fly-Brace technology to deliver faster ball speed and greater forgiving distance with every shot.

Longer Shots

The Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 improves on its predecessor with a reengineered High Speed Cavity Back design for increased distance and more stability. With all-new Fly-Brace technology, the rear portion of the club is reinforced so that more energy is transferred to the face at impact, resulting in longer and straighter shots.

Adjustability

The FlexLoft adjustability system allows you to customize your loft and face angle positions independently of each other to optimize launch and spin conditions for maximum distance and accuracy. This simple pull, turn, push-and-tighten system offers more range and versatility in the bag to meet the demands of your game.

More Speed

The redesigned NexCOR face incorporates variable face thickness for a faster, hotter face and, subsequently, more ball speed at impact.

More Benefits

  • Kuro Kage Silver HBP Graphite 80 shaft with a higher balance point for higher swing speeds without adding shaft length
  • New Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G grip for a great feel

Product Review:

Look 10/10:

Just like the driver Nike has hit the reload button on the Covert line with huge improvements. One especially surprising with the 2.0 line that I think could be overlooked is their new line of hybrids with the loft adjustability we love with Nike. They took the same great red crown with black and white colorways just like the 2014 Covert Tour 2.0 driver. Another great touch is the red Golf Pride Tour wrap grip on the White Kuro Kage graphite shaft. I wish Nike would have gone with the Tour Velvet but still a great look. I give the overall look of the Nike Covert Tour 2.0 hybrid a 10/10.

Feel 7/10:

Feel of this club is solid with a muted sound that can throw me off sometimes but just takes getting use to with range time and playing on the course. Once I figured out this club of what shots feel good makes me feel better about this club. Also the Kuro Kage shaft feels better in the hybrid than driver. So if you are a fan of a more solid sounding club compared to a loud tingy sound than give the Nike Covert 2.0 Tour hybrid a shot because you will be a happy camper at the end of your next round. I give the overall feel a 7/10.nike 2.0 covert hybrid

Distance 10/10:

I believe Nike should rename this club the Covert “Bomber” hybrid because this thing has one job and it is to smash golfballs with ease. The NexCor face is hotter than ever with a redesign and can be seen compared to last year’s model. Nike gives you the ability to leave your 3 iron in the garage and collect dust because you now have a weapon that will go further and higher than your long irons. My favorite part is changing the loft down to 17 degrees before playing a few course where I know I will need a little extra distance but normally leave it at 18 for gapping purposes between my 3 wood and 4 iron.

If you want one of the longest hybrids in the game look no further because Nike has delivered a hybrid that will defy the laws of physics giving it a 10/10 overall for distance.

Workability/Adjustability 10/10:

Raise your hand if you want a hybrid that has full  adjustiblity and workability. I see a lot of hands up because I know you are excited to hear about the Nike Covert Hybrid 2.0. My favorite feature of this club is that Nike have harnessed the power of their FlexLoft technology into their hybrids. “The FlexLoft adjustability system allows you to customize your loft and face angle positions independently of each other to optimize launch and spin conditions for maximum distance and accuracy. This simple pull, turn, push-and-tighten system offers more range and versatility in the bag to meet the demands of your game.”

Now that Nike has covered everything you need to handle with adjustiblity its time to move onto workability. I have no problem working ball flight and direction with this club. The technology in this club gives me confidence that I can attempt any shot on the course without fear of being able to move the ball left or right, out of deep rough or tight lies and even out of fairway bunkers. This club checks all the boxes and I give the overall workability/adjustability rating an 10/10.

Overall Rating 37/40:

Nike has made some great improvements to the Covert 2.0 line of drivers, woods and hybrids this year. If you already have the new Covert Tour driver in your bag don’t forget to checkout the under rated weapon of the Covert family. So if you are struggling to hit your long irons and want to finally check your ego at the course I promise adding this club into your bag will payoff 10 fold on the course and you can thank me later.

Product Review: Marc Pro

What do the following have in common: The New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Broncos, St. Louis Blues and myself? We all use the best recovery tool on the market. If you have never have heard about the Marc Pro before, you better be ready to get on board or be left in the dust with sore muscles and slower recovery times.marc-pro-h1

As a former college athlete that had to endure 5 knee surgeries, I felt like the physical therapist was my second home, (really it wasn’t too bad since I got to choose the owner’s fantasy football picks and ride the bike like Lance “F-in” Armstrong). If you have ever been to PT, you might have had some electrodes placed on your body to help with muscle atrophy and recovery. For me, this electric stimulation therapy was one of the key components in getting back my strength with multiple recoveries.

After college I have always wanted to have a personal stimulation machine to help with quicker recovery from golf and gym sessions. Trying a handful of different products over the years I was never impressed until I found the Marc Pro. In my mind, it is one of the best products on the market.

So get ready to hear my take on this great product, while I am literally using it as I write this after a killer shoulder workout.

How the Marc Pro Helps Muscle Recovery?:

The basis for post exercise recovery is the normalization of tissue through the movement of nourishment and waste. Marc Pro is specifically designed and excels at this particular task. The Marc Pro muscle conditioning device creates unique, strong, but completely non-fatiguing muscle contractions that set off a cascading series of physiologic events. We call this a Muscle Activated Recovery Cascade, or “MARC™” for short.

The process begins with the activation of Nitric Oxide (NO), which dilates blood vessels and leads to increased flow delivering more oxygenated blood and nutrients to the area. The lymphatic and venous systems also require and benefit from localized muscle activity. Because of this, using the Marc Pro after physical activity helps move the related waste and deoxygenated blood away from the fatigued area(s). This exchange of nourishment and waste, without stress or fatigue, accelerates the recovery of the muscle.

The Marc Pro unit comes with everything you would need in a handy carrying case that I can take with myself on trips or to the office.

Don’t let this lightweight machine fool you thinking it doesn’t have power. I’m pretty sure the Hulk uses this machine for faster recovery after destroying alien ships with the Avengers or smashing buildings. I give the overall look a 10/10.

Performance 10/10

I believe the Marc Pro’s middle name could be performance because this device delivers high quality performance that kills off your muscle fatigue and makes you ready to go in no time. So don’t be afraid to push yourself in the gym on those last few reps because after slapping on this bad boy it will make everything better the next day. (#Gymtip is use the Marc Pro after leg day and will help you curb the dreaded 2nd day leg day pain!) Also I have been seeing great results by using this in my shoulder to help handle my shoulder (I refuse to get another cortisone shot).

When swinging a golf club over 120 mph, I personally get a sore lower back from all the torque I am putting on my body and now my go-to is having this in the car ready after I finish a round on the course. In no time, I am ready to go and wish this product was around in college because I would have loved it after playing collegiate golf, where we would play 36 holes the first day followed by 18 the second day. Less muscle fatigue would have helped me stay strong the entire time and not be too sore.

Not only will every golfer, butt snowboarders, bikers, hardcore weight lifters and other athletes  will see huge benefits from this amazing product. I give the overall performance score a 10/10.

Overall Ranking: 20/20

What?! A perfect score! I am shocked too because the only other product I have ever given a perfect score to is the Mizuno MP-64 irons (and still the best irons in the world in my opinion).

The Marc Pro deserves a perfect score because it’s an amazing product. I believe more people need to discover this product and try it to see how it can help their overall health and wellness. Don’t be afraid of the price tag because this is not a gimmick. Simply put… Marc Pro delivers and would be surprised if you find anything that is better on the market. Just look for yourself WHO IS USING THE MARC PRO.

Product Review:

Look 10/10:

It’s here… The newest driver Cleveland Golf has released and it’s something even Batman would be gaming with its slick jet black paint job with carbon fiber hints on the sole of the 588 Custom Driver. CG has kept their gold accents with the black colorway just like last year’s Classic XL custom but even improved it to look even more badass. They have stayed with what I believe is the best looking driver of 2014.

With two different loft options of 9 and 10.5 with 12 different options to tune loft, lie and face angle is all one needs to murder golf balls. Players will also have the option of a 3, 7 and 11 gram swing weights to dial in their driver even further than the hosel adjustment.

The biggest change from the Classic Custom XL and the 588 Custom Driver is the new head cover. They have gone with a better looking cover compared to last year’s driver. The biggest issue I found with the Custom XL was hard to keep the head cover from falling off. They fixed this issue by making a home run of a head cover that will give you that statement in your bag that tells your competition to be ready to play their 2nd shot first on every hole. I give the overall look a 10/10.

588 Custom

Feel 10/10:

The 588 Custom Driver has taken acoustics of their newest premium driver to an even higher level than last year’s model. When you have a solid hit with this driver, everyone around will know the drive has been bombed. It’s one of those sounds that will definitely make a statement.

When I first got this driver, I took it right to the range and was a little unsure if it would be as great as the Classic XL Custom that I played with last season. I started off with the 3 gram weight that is made for maximum distance. Knowing that distance isn’t an issue with my game, but wanting to increase my accuracy, I swapped out the swing weight for the 7 gram. This small tweak made the biggest difference for my game. It allowed me to make this driver not only long but deadly accurate and it feels amazing in my hands.

Not only does it feel amazing, it took everything I loved from the Classic XL and IMPROVED it in the feel category. With the improvements since last year I give the overall feel of the 588 Custom a 10/10.

Distance 10/10:photo

Cleveland Golf has delivered a driver that has taken distance to another level of craziness. Since gaming this driver, I have seen some of the longest and most consistent drives in my life. Not only have I had to apologize multiple times to groups ahead of me after mashing it into them over 300 yards out, the 588 has delivered real results while doing Ernst Sports ES12 testing. As the Michael Smith show on ESPN says, “Numbers Never Lie”, the 588 Driver proves it’s one of the best.

Just looking at the data I have collected and seen on the course, I believe we have a winner on the market. If you have a lower swing speed, CG also offers the 588 Altitude Driver to help you deliver punishing drives like the big boys on tour. I challenge you to go into your local shop, put this driver in your bag and play my favorite game of hitting it past everyone with a Taylormade Driver. I give the overall distance a 10/10.

Adjustability/Workability 8/10:ES 12

No need to get an encyclopedia on how to adjust your new driver when purchasing the 588 Custom Driver. They made it simple. First choose your loft of 9 or 10.5, second grab the CG wrench and adjust your settings from one of 12 and finally pick what swing weight best fits your needs. There is no need to have a million settings that most players will never even know how to use or won’t actually help their overall game. Cleveland made it simple for any user to understand, which is great to see that the R&D department at CG is paying attention to golfers. I personally like to leave my driver in the Neutral setting because that’s how I like to setup my driver but players can tweak to their hearts desire.

Only thing I would like to see in the future from Cleveland in their premium driver is to have a few more loft options like the Nike Covert.

Again the workability of the new 588 Driver just like last year’s Classic XL Custom is on point. The last round I played with the 588 I felt like I couldn’t miss a fairway, which is a great feeling for anyone playing golf. I give the overall adjustability/workability rating an 8/10.

Overall Rating 38/40:

“Boom goes the dynamite,” should be the tagline for this driver. All you need to do is step up to the tee. Get your Srixon Z-Star XV ready to go and fire away. Next thing you know, you will be apologizing to the group ahead from sending in a rocket from a mile away. So if you are still undecided on what driver to play this season take my word and give Cleveland’s newest 588 Driver a shot. I promise you will not be upset. VRS Covert

Product Review: Nike VR S Covert 2.0 Tour Driver

What’s that sound? I think it could be the sound of a rocket taking off or an F-22 Raptor going in for a kill? Actually it’s the Nike VR S Covert Tour 2.0 driver blasting missiles all over the course. Nike has taken the Covert driver and elevated it with modifications to their past model.

The Nike Covert Tour model was redesigned to deliver even more speed to give any player who played last year’s model even more blinding distance. So get strapped in and prepare for lift off because Nike is bringing the G-Forces.

I tested the Nike Covert Tour 2.0 driver with the stock Kuro Kage X-Stiff shaft.VRS Covert

Product Details:

The Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 Tour Driver features an enhanced cavity back design with new Fly-Brace technology to deliver faster ball speed and greater forgiving distance with every shot.

Longer Shots

The Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 improves on its predecessor with a reengineered High Speed Cavity Back design for increased distance and more stability. With all-new Fly-Brace technology, the rear portion of the club is reinforced so that more energy is transferred to the face at impact. The result: even greater ball speed and up to six yards of distance gain compared to the previous model.

Adjustability

The FlexLoft adjustability system allows you to customize your loft and face angle positions independently of each other to optimize launch and spin conditions for maximum distance and accuracy. This simple pull, turn, push-and-tighten system offers loft and face angle positions for 15 drivers in one club to meet the demands of your game.

More Speed

The 15-percent larger NexCOR face incorporates variable face thickness for a faster, hotter face and, subsequently, more ball speed at impact.

More Benefits

  • Head adjustable from 8.5 to 12.5 degrees of loft and three face angle positionsVR_S_COVERT_2_TOUR_DRIVER_PLY_PPT_large
  • Kuro Kage Silver 60 graphite shaft with Titanium Nickel fiber in the tip for more stability and lower spin

Product Review:

Look 10/10:

It’s 2014 and that means there is a new Nike Covert on the market. A much improved Nike Covert. Nike still has the cavity back driver in the lineup and have already been seen on the tour by the top team Nike golfers like Rory and Tiger. The new scheme features a white colorway on the Tour 2.0 that I am huge fan of for visual appeal. I think Nike really nailed the look on the newest 2.0 drivers. They also kept the white swoosh on the red crown, which is a huge plus to see that it stayed with 2.0 model. The look of the Covert Tour 2.0 is nothing less than bad ass. Another great touch is the red Golf Pride Tour wrap grip on the White Kuro Kage graphite shaft. I wish Nike would have gone with the Tour Velvet but still a great look. I give the overall look of the Nike Covert Tour 2.0 a 10/10.

Feel 6/10:

Feel again is my biggest issue with the Nike Covert Tour 2.0. I really think it could be the shaft choice of using the Kuro Kage. I really wish the stock option for this driver was the Fubuki line instead of the Kuro Kage. They had it in the old Nike VR S, and I loved that shaft. I will probably end up putting a Fubuki K-Series X-Stiff in this club for the rest of the season. The sound is another thing that is still throwing me off on the Nike Covert 2.0. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between a well-struck and a poorly struck shot. I give the overall feel a 6/10.

Distance 10/10:

If you are looking for a driver to deliver maximum distance with low spin, the Nike Covert Tour 2.0 is what you should be looking to put in your bag. The re-engineered cavity back has made great improvements in the area of distance by allowing the player to get maximum ball speed to deliver punishing drives. I had no problem crushing this driver when taking it to the range or playing a few rounds with it. I give the overall distance ranking a 10/10.VR_S_COVERT_2_TOUR_DRIVER

Adjustability/Workability 9/10

Nike has done it again and given anyone who picks it up the opportunity for full adjustability and dial it in for their needs. Either crank up the loft for that round that you want to launch everything high or dial it down when playing your favorite links course. Players can open or close the face but I believe most players should just leave it at neutral and work on their swing.

Workability of the Nike Tour 2.0 sees dramatic improvements with the cavity back redesign on providing better stability with higher ball speeds. The Nike Tour driver can be worked either way, left or right, by players who like to move the ball in any direction. I give the overall workability/adjustability rating a 9/10.

Overall Rating 35/40:

Nike should be proud on improvements they have made to the Nike Covert 2.0 driver line this year. They found ways to deliver a much improved driver to the marketplace. The Nike Covert 2.0 Tour model not only looks great but is also very LONG! I think some small improvements to the sound of the club as well as the stock shaft option will help this club go even higher up the rankings. Also, I am hoping for a good year from Tiger and Rory, which should help out the Swoosh team a ton. Overall I am having a great experience with the new Nike driver. Keep on cooking up winners in the Oven guys!
