Nike Clayton Golf Shoe

New Nike Lunar Clayton Blends Craftsmanship and Comfort

– Handcrafted leather footwear, lightweight Lunarlon technology inspire Nike Golf’s new versatile shoe –Nike Clayton Golf Shoe

BEAVERTON, Ore. (December 10, 2013) — Nike Golf introduces the Nike Lunar Clayton, a shoe that celebrates the heritage and history of the sport of golf while providing athletes with superior comfort, supportive fit and an aesthetic appeal suitable for wear both on and off the course.

Nike Golf Footwear Product Line Manager Ryan Bucci was first inspired more than 5,000 miles from Nike’s world headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., while window-shopping in Florence, Italy.

“Handmade, Italian leather shoes are the essence of premium footwear,” Bucci says. “We saw that there was an opening in the marketplace for a high-quality, handcrafted golf shoe that we could marry with Nike technology to make it lighter, more comfortable and more wearable.”

To achieve the ultimate combination of craftsmanship and comfort, the Nike Golf footweardesigners combined a handcrafted, waterproof leather upper with lightweight Nike Lunarlon technology in the outsole for maximum responsive cushioning. A leather welt, often utilized in traditional methods of making shoes, joins the upper to the outsole while protecting from the elements.

“In the past, wearing a high-end leather golf shoe meant you had to take the time to break it in. Those shoes can be rigid and uncomfortable,” Bucci says. “The Nike Lunar Clayton is a handcrafted leather shoe that is built to last but ready to wear. We obsessed the details, from the leather upper to the contrast stitching to stability and fit.”

A new Internal Dynamic Fit System provides a secure fit and stability in the midfoot through a lacing system that Nike Golf designers moved to the inside of the upper. A molded rubber outsole (Integrated Traction) makes the Nike Lunar Clayton a versatile, wearable shoe both on and off the golf course.

Additional design features include a Nike-crafted Swoosh on the upper, premium sock liner, contrast stitch details and two sets of laces with each pair of shoes.

Product Review: Mizuno JPX EZ Irons

Are you looking for what could be one of the best game improvement irons of 2014? Need that extra help to hit your irons not only farther, but higher? Are you sick of some game improvement irons that look like a huge block of cheese? Well Mizuno has delivered a winner for anyone with a 10-35 handicap looking to better their game by being able to hit better quality shots into greens.

So if you want to have the opportunity to play one of the elite iron makers in the world but your game isn’t up to par on playing a players iron, then the Mizuno JPX EZ irons will be right in your wheelhouse.

I not only had the privilege of testing out these new irons but had a mid-high handicapper give these a try to see if they could help him improve his game compared to the Callaway irons he had in his bag.

Product Details:

Your odds just improved with the incredible JPX-EZ irons.

Combining Mizuno’s HOT METAL face design and ultra pocket cavity (4-7 iron) the JPX-EZ irons fire higher and longer with a predictable, tight dispersion. The Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T.) engineered cavity frame ensures that the JPX-EZ feels like every Mizuno iron should, but with forgiveness you can’t imagine.

Attack the course. Play like you’ve never played before with the JPX-EZ.

  • Max Pocket Cavity (4-7): Massive sweet area, tightest dispersion, and effortless launch characteristics.
  • Deep pocket Cavity (8-GW): For increased accuracy and launch control.
  • HOT METAL FACE: Thin multi thickness design for maximum COR to deliver long, consistent distance.
  • Harmonic Impact Technology (H.I.T): Feel and sound tuned through cavity frame design.
  • Custom Set Make Ups: Available in mixed/ combo sets or with JPX FLI-HI long iron alternatives.

Dave’s take on the Mizuno JPX EZ Irons:

The Mizuno JPX EZ are the 1st set of new clubs I’ve had in over 20 years.  My first impression of these clubs were that they looked and felt like that my game had already improved without hitting a ball yet.  On my maiden voyage on the course with these beauties, I quickly found out they had an excellent sweet spot and the ball came off the club like butter.  The other big change was that I hit the ball further than I normally do.  So my biggest challenge now is selecting the right club for this added distance.

Overall the Mizuno JPX EZ are the clubs for me and I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I can get out there to play and see my game improve.

Product Review:

Look 10/10:

Mizuno has hit the nail on the head with the new JPX-EZ irons by offering a sleek-looking black nickel finish on the JPX EZ irons that look great at address with a clean topline. Most of the time when you think of a game improvement iron, you will think there’s just going to be a gigantic cavity and the club is going to be extremely bulky. The JPX EZ irons on the other hand give you the look of a players iron with the performance of a game improvement iron, giving Mizuno a great new weapon to let more players get their clubs in their hands. I give the overall look of the JPX-EZ irons a 10/10.! Never Settle! Shop Mizuno Team Sports! Baseball, Softball, Vollyball! Free Shipping on Orders of $100 - USE CODE: MIZUNO888!

Distance Control & Accuracy 9/10:

If you are looking for a set of irons that will go farther than your current set along with laser like accuracy then look no further because Mizuno has delivered a game changer with their new JPX-EZ line. Pounding these things on the driving range I was very impressed with how easy they are to hit with the same great feeling of the players irons by Mizuno. After taking a few swings with each club, I was able to dial these things into every green on the range, knocking everything close. These are clubs I wish I had when I first started golfing because I believe they would have made the sport a lot easier to play with all the high performance features you know Mizuno delivers.

If your game has been struggling forever by not being able to knock it close and score better with your irons, I suggest go down to your local shop, give these a try and compare them to your current irons. I believe your distance control and accuracy will see great improvement with the deep and max cavity pockets and Hot Metal Face. I am very impressed with the distance control and accuracy and give the overall rating a 9/10.

Feel 9/10:

Want to have the feeling of playing a Mizuno but have always thought it was only for low handicap players that play shiny chrome blades? Well if you have been living under a rock, you must have missed the news that is blowing everyone away in the golf world with the newest addition to the Mizuno family of the JPX-EZ line. These irons feel great, and I only hit the cast model. If you want to take it to another step then Mizuno also offers the EZ line in a forged model that will feel just as good as my MP-64’s.

I have personally never liked the feeling of hitting game improvement irons but this is the first one that doesn’t feel like a brick with the gigantic cavity that most game improvement irons. The feeling off the Hot Metal Face is soft which gives you instant feedback where you hit it on the clubface. Mizuno even used Harmonic Impact Technology to give you the best sounding club head which you might think is some crazy witchcraft, but actually shows the designers want every aspect of this club to be great. If you want a better feeling iron make sure to give these a try because I give the feel a 9/10.

Weighting 8/10:

Mizuno is known for making some of the best irons in the business and has created a great weighted club that will blast through the turf giving you a high ball flight that will murder your current distances you have with your current game improvement irons. Even though it’s heavier than my MP 64’s, it still feels better than others I have tried in the past. Even in the worst lies these give anyone the confidence to hammer the ball and be more aggressive. I give the overall weighting an 8/10.

Overall Rating 36/40:

Impressed is the word that resonates with the Mizuno JPX-EZ line. It’s a great feeling club that performs above and beyond against others in its class by delivering top-of-the-line results in look, distance control, accuracy, feel and weighting. I believe any player wanting to shoot better scores needs to give these a try. They took the JPX line of the past year and elevated the results to allow more players feel confident on the course. I believe this iron will help golfers bridge the gap by helping lower their scores, if not only making them have a better time playing golf but even move into a Mizuno players iron in the future.

It’s that time when you just don’t know what to buy for that golfer in your family than how about giving them a gift certificate to your local Mizuno retailer to let them get fitted and help them reach their New Year’s Resolution of playing better golf in 2014.
